It's about you, not me

It's about you, not me

I became a celebrant because I thought that my very own celebrant was just the loveliest person and really looked as though she loved what she did. I became an authorised celebrant in 2010 and worked on Hamilton Island, Hayman Island, Daydream Island, Whitehaven Beach, Airlie Beach and Mackay for 4 years. I was a celebrant to some of the most down-to-earth and loved up couples. North Queensland has a smorgasbord of locations and venues but back to the Gold Coast we went in 2015 to ensure our son was offered an exceptional high school education.

What I didn’t expect was that to be a ‘celebrant’ had become fashionable and competition was, and is, fierce.  I don’t want to do a hard sell but what I do want you to know is that I care – truly and sincerely care.  I want your wedding to be THE best day of your life.  I want all your dreams to come true but what I really want is for you both to look back on your ceremony and feel proud – proud at how you conducted yourselves and proud of the words that you promised to one another in front of your friends and family.

This day is all about you both – not about me.  I want you both to know that prior to your wedding day I will be centre and front in the planning and organising of your ceremony. I will listen, guide and ensure you feel prepared and calm…but…. on your wedding day..I will step to the side and officiate with nothing other than in a professional and sincere manner.

I won’t be in every photo and I won’t be loud or commanding.  I want you both to shine.  I want you to know that for one day – your day – you are the most special people in everyone’s eyes.
